God Provides

A brief note for my friends going through difficult times.

Our God provides for our needs in amazing and often unforeseen ways. This is something the Bible is clear on and I can attest to its truth by my own experiences. "Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." (Mat 6:8) and he loves to give his children good gifts (Mat 7:11). This does not mean that we get whatever we want, but it does mean that God will provide us what we need.

Our Heavenly Father is the sovereign of the universe. By His Word He created everything out of nothing and by his word all of us live, breathe, and have our being. Why should he care about you and I and our struggles personally; He being outside of time, seeing everything and everyone from beginning to end at once. This is how. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, revealing The Father and extending to all of us at all times incredible grace, peace, and love. (John 1:1-18)

What does this look like? Theologically, the redemption of our sins. Relationally, adoption as God's very own children. Practically, the provision of our needs. This is only the very briefest of overviews concerning the incredible God / us relationship that we can enter into.

For all my friends out there who are going through difficult times know that your Heavenly Father loves you and will provide for your needs. Draw near to Him and he will draw near to you. (James 4:8) Cast all your cares upon Him in prayer because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Your life situation, the circumstances you have faced and are facing now are part of a larger design and God has promised us that if we trust him with all of our heart, not leaning on our own understanding, then He will make our paths straight (Prov 3:5-6). How do you do this? Reach out to your Heavenly Father in faith, pray to your Heavenly Father for wisdom and direction. Read the Word of God daily, praying that God will give you understanding. Pray for what you need, confess your sins freely and your Heavenly Father will forgive you. Go to a good Bible believing Church and get connected with the community of faith.

In this way you will open yourself up to God's leading in your life and start to receive the good things that come with being a child of God.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
